The road toyour licence

Three courses, one after another. Start with a CBT, then take your full licence at the size of bike your age allows. We'll be with you the whole way.

  1. Stage 1: Compulsory Basic Training

    CBT

Where everyone starts. You need a CBT before you can ride on the road, and you don't need to have sat on a bike before.

    • No riding experience needed
    • Up to 7 hours, with at least 2 on public roads
    • Runs 9am–4pm or 10am–5pm
    • No theory test needed
    • Need a second day? It’s £40 an hour
    Book a CBT
  2. Then your theory test. You'll need to pass the motorcycle theory test before MOD1, whichever licence you go for.

  3. Stage 2: Full licence with power limits

    A1 / A2

Lose the L plates and ride on a full licence, on a bike sized to your age. You pass MOD1 off-road, then MOD2 on the road.

    • MOD1: off-road manoeuvres test
    • MOD2: on-road riding test
    • MOD1 training is always one-to-one
    • You’ll need your motorcycle theory test
    • Age limits apply (see the licence finder)
    Book A1 / A2
  4. Stage 3: Full licence, no power limits

    Direct Access

The full A licence. Ride any motorcycle, with no restrictions. Open to riders aged 24 and over.

    • For riders aged 24 and over
    • 2-hour lessons, breaks included
    • No power restrictions once you pass
    • DVSA-qualified instruction throughout
    • Our modern bikes, ready for you
    Book Direct Access
  5. Full licence. No L plates.

How yourtraining works

From first ride to full licence, in seven steps.

  1. Step 1, with us

    CBT

One day on our site and out on the road. Pass it and you can ride on L plates.

  2. Step 2, at a test centre

    Theory test

Multiple-choice questions and hazard perception clips. You need it before MOD1.

  3. Step 3, with us

    MOD1 training

One-to-one on our site: slow riding, U-turns, the swerve and the emergency stop.

  4. Step 4, DVSA test

    MOD1 test

The off-road manoeuvres test, on our bike, with your instructor there.

  5. Step 5, with us

    MOD2 training

Real roads around St Helens, until test-day riding feels normal.

  6. Step 6, DVSA test

    MOD2 test

About 40 minutes on the road with an examiner, plus an eyesight check.

  7. Step 7

    Full licence

Beforeyou book

The short version is below. You'll sign the full terms at the start of your training, so please read them first.

  • Kit

A UK-legal helmet, motorcycle gloves and jacket, plus suitable trousers and boots. Unsuitable kit means training is cancelled with no refund.

  • Paying and cancelling

You pay in full when you book. Cancel at least 7 working days before, or you lose the fee, even if you’re ill on the day.

  • Arriving late

There’s a 20-minute grace period. If you’re running late, call us within it, or we may cancel with loss of fees.

  • Licence

Bring your in-date UK driving licence and National Insurance number for the DVLA check. No licence means no training.

  • Weather

All training depends on the weather. If we cancel for safety, we’ll rebook the time you’re owed.

  • Your data

We never share your data with third parties, except what the DVSA requires for CBT. We follow UK GDPR.
